Salience contributes to bringing OBC closer to Omani utilities
Workshop entitled ‘Integration and Partnership in Telecommunication Infrastructure and Broadband Projects’ was held in Muscat, Oman on 9th June 2014. As a consultant to the Oman Broadband Company, Salience has contributed to the event with Ivan Skenderoski giving a presentation on the state of broadband in Oman and the goals of OBC and Graeme Lowther moderating a panel session on collaboration between OBC and the utilities.
In the presentation Ivan explained broadband’s impact on increasing country’s GDP and creating new jobs in the country. Ivan also spoke about how OBC fills the market gap and accelerates the supply of affordable infrastructure complementing existing operators, not competing with them and explained OBC’s commercial strategy in more details.
During the event, experiences in the field of broadband networks from different countries have been shared. Participants discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the authorities concerned to provide better services to citizens.
The workshop was held under the auspices of Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and communications.
