Laos digital connectivity assessment

Last week, our team conducted a discovery mission in Laos as part of The World Bank Group’s Laos Digital Connectivity Assessment. The team held a number of industry stakeholder meetings, yielding valuable insights into the current digital infrastructure gaps, including cross-border fibre links, fixed and mobile connectivity in rural areas, the datacenter landscape and existing network resilience to natural disasters.

With government and development banks support Laos is currently expanding its infrastructure and building new roads and railways. Digital infrastructure needs to leverage these developments and be deployed efficiently along the roads and the rail tracks. This along with the Laos green hydro energy could be further leveraged for development of AI data centre infrastructure.

We are proud to contribute to a project that supports the development of more inclusive and resilient digital infrastructure, helping people thrive and positioning Laos as emerging regional digital leaders.
