Enabling $800M for Nigeria’s Digital Infrastructure

The African Development Bank Group has approved a $200 million sovereign loan for Nigeria’s Digital Value Chain Infrastructure (D-VIBE / Project BRIDGE), supporting the rollout of 90,000 km of fibre infrastructure nationwide to expand broadband access and close connectivity gaps.

This forms part of a broader international financing effort that also includes a $100 million sovereign loan from the EBRD and $500 million committed by The World Bank Group, alongside other development partners, to accelerate fibre rollout and digital inclusion across the country.

At Salience Consulting, we are proud to have supported this achievement. Our feasibility study helped inform the successful structuring and approval of these sovereign financings, supporting one of Africa’s most significant digital infrastructure programmes.

With 90,000 km of fibre infrastructure to be deployed nationwide and all 774 local government areas set to be connected, the project is expected to expand access, enable investment, support job creation, and strengthen the foundations of Nigeria’s digital economy.

A strong example of how technical preparation and collaboration with development finance institutions can translate into meaningful impact on the ground.
