The main challenge of this assignment was to support the creation of Oman Broadband Company (OBC) by developing a comprehensive strategy, organizational framework, and business model while addressing complex regulatory and commercial requirements. The project required designing a scalable network for urban, suburban, and rural areas, integrating existing government fiber assets, forecasting demand, and establishing financial, operational, and licensing frameworks to ensure OBC’s sustainable and effective launch.
Project outline
- Conduct asset audit and valuation of Haya Water’s fiber assets.
- Analyze historical deployment costs to identify variations across neighborhoods.
- Develop methodology and approaches for different asset types.
- Propose multiple implementation scenarios and provide recommendations.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and present analysis and recommendations.
