Salience has been supporting the COMESA Secretariat in the development of policy and regulatory framework for open access and infrastructure sharing for fiber optic networks; and strategic framework for regional cooperation on broadband backbone networks in the EA-SA-IO Region.

During the 3-day validation workshop in Kampala, Uganda, majority of COMESA-EAC-SADC Tripartite’s 29 member states participated in fruitful discussions, bringing them one step closer to the implementation of much-needed regional agreements.

The outcome of the workshop is expected to facilitate improved access to high-speed internet connectivity across the region. This initiative can potentially enhance digital connectivity, promote economic growth, and foster collaboration among nations in the EA-SA-IO Region.
