On behalf of the Salience Pioneer Consortium, our team, Erik Whitlock and Juan Pablo Lefian Salinas recently attended the 37th Annual General Meeting of the Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs (COMNAP) held in Warsaw, Poland, from 5–8 August 2025. As part of the Chilean delegation, we engaged with key stakeholders to advance the Chilean-Antarctica subsea feasibility study, conducted on behalf of CAF and SUBTEL.
The meeting gathered 33 COMNAP member programs and covered critical topics including Antarctic research preparations for 2025/2026, environmental protection, safety protocols, and advances in logistics and technology supporting polar science.
This engagement strengthens Chile’s role and collaboration within the international Antarctic research community as we move forward with this important project.
