As part of a follow-up activities for an EBRD-funded project with ICTA, the Salience team arrived for a final on-site visit in order to support the project’s conclusion. In this final phase of the project, Salience experts delivered training sessions for newly recruited ICTA staff. The sessions covered the role and responsibilities of a modern telecommunications regulator, the unique aspects of working in a regulatory body, different types of regulation plus an overview of key markets typically subject to regulatory oversight. The training also incorporated insights from international regulatory experiences.
In addition, the Salience team reviewed and discussed feedback from ICTA experts on the remaining project deliverables, including wholesale reference offers, cost modelling requirements as well as data collection tools and procedures.
