Smart Africa Workshop in Accra (9-10 April)

Our Salience team attended the Smart Africa Workshop on April 9–10 in Accra, focusing on progressing regional engagement for West African countries. During the workshop, we presented the results from our previous BPMP Feasibility Study on connectivity, completed for 28 Smart Africa Member States.

The goal of the workshop was to introduce the Africa Bulk Purchase Marketplace (BPMP) approach and gather input on the specific needs and priorities of Smart Africa Member States. BPMP is a strategic initiative designed to aggregate digital connectivity needs for schools and health centers across the continent.

Although global investment in digital transformation is increasing, many African schools and health centers still lack access to affordable, high-quality internet—limiting digital learning, telehealth services, and health information systems. Through this project, Smart Africa, in collaboration with GIGA (a joint initiative of UNICEF and ITU), UNECA, the Partnership for Digital Access in Africa (PDAA), Member governments, other development partners, and philanthropic organizations,  are working to build a digitally inclusive future for Africa’s children, students, and communities.

Salience is proud to be contributing to this effort transforming countries and communities through digital and ICT solutions.
