Salience conducted a workshop for representatives of Iraq’s Ministry of Communication on technical and commercial plans for investment in Fibre To The Home (FTTH) projects

Salience Consulting delivered a one-day workshop with the objective of discussing the technical specifications and the commercial issues for investment in Fibre To The Home (FTTH) projects. The workshop was held in Dubai on 4th June 2015 and attended by technical, commercial and legal managers from Iraq’s Ministry of Communications and the state-owned telecommunications company. During the workshop, our Managing Partner Ivan Skenderoski presented Broadband and NBN fundamentals and explained operating models as well as Business case development and rollout optimisation to achieve high return from fibre investments. Graeme Lowther spoke about NBN vendor selection strategy and top 10 challenges in NBN projects. Investment requirements and approaches were covered by our Financial Expert Dominique Reverdy. At the end of the workshop, experiences in the field of broadband networks from different countries have been shared by Hamid Bafghi. In an open session participants discussed the current situation on Iraq’s telecom market and the expected future developments to enable further FTTH investments and commercialization of the existing fibre infrastructure.
