The challenge
NEOM required a reliable, accurate geospatial foundation to support the planning and deployment of its digital infrastructure, particularly for 5G network rollout. Existing datasets needed validation, consolidation, and integration into a structured geodatabase that could be used across teams and embedded into the NEOM web portal. Ensuring data accuracy and usability was critical to support informed decision-making and coordinated infrastructure development.
Project outline
-
Created and populated a centralized geodatabase for NEOM’s digital infrastructure assets.
-
Verified and validated 5G site data extracted from KMZ files.
-
Managed geospatial data consistency, structure, and version control.
-
Ensured readiness of datasets for upload and integration into the NEOM web portal.
-
Provided ongoing GIS and geodatabase management support to maintain data integrity.
Our impact
Salience enabled NEOM to establish a reliable geospatial data foundation for its digital infrastructure planning. By validating and structuring critical 5G site data and integrating it into a centralized geodatabase, the engagement improved data accuracy, transparency, and usability across teams, supporting more effective planning and execution of NEOM’s network deployment activities.
